SPEECH THERAPY UNIT

The Department of Speech and Hearing cater to the speech-language and hearing needs of individuals with communication disorders by enhancing the quality of their communication skills. The Unit provide clinical services for all referred persons such as diagnostic, assessment, therapeutic intervention, home training programme, parents counselling, sibling training and group communication programme.

Services Offered:

• Speech therapy: Addressing speech problems like articulation errors, fluency disorders
  (stuttering), and voice disorder.
• Language therapy: Working on language comprehension and expression difficulties
• Hearing evaluations: Conducting comprehensive hearing tests to identify the type and
  severity of hearing loss.
• Early intervention services: Providing therapy to young children with speech and
  hearing delays.
• Parent counselling: Supporting parents in understanding their child’s communication
  challenges and how to assist them.
• Group therapy sessions: Facilitating interaction and communication skills in a group
  setting.
• Public education: Awareness programme regarding various communication disorder in
  different District/Block in the state.
• Extension services : Conducting camps in rural area.
