Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), (CRC- Shillong)

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), (CRC- Shillong), Meghalaya at Monfort Building, Dhankheti, Shillong is a service institution set under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), Govt. of India; with the aim of creating and developing resources and services required for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the State of Meghalaya.

There are National Institutes and other apex bodies in each area of disability in different parts of India under the same Ministry. The Ministry has set up CRCs in different parts of India. CRC at Shillong is the 20th such institution and has become functional since July 19th 2021. CRC- Shillong is under administrative control of National Institute for Empowerment of Person with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Chennai, DEPwD, MSJE, Govt. of India with an aim to serve as a regional resource centre for the empowerment of persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016. Apart from undertaking centre based and camp based rehabilitation services, awareness, academic & service provision activities, it also functions as apex resources centre for Persons with Disabilities in the State.
